As Good with a Pen as a Brush The Memoirs of Dame Laura Knight
From the Bromley Library E-bulletin 2026 comes a piece penned by Karen Winyard, committee member NWHG.
who says ” At Nottingham Women’s History Group, we wonder why Nottingham does not do more to celebrate Dame Laura Knight, surely one of the city’s most exceptional daughters. There is a tram bearing her name and a plaque above 9 Noel Street, the house where she grew up; which feels rather lacklustre. (photo below) So, if you are looking for a good read this summer, I recommend Dame Laura Knight’s memoirs, both are available to borrow from Bromley House Library, along with related works by her biographers”.
a jolly good read !
